The rapper-producer finally unveils his long awaited fourth studio album.
Having been initially teased a number of years ago, Pi’erre Bourne finally seemed to be putting the finishing touches on his album Made in Paris in 2025. When it came to why it took so long for the album, Bourne explained that he wanted to take his time with the visual aspects of the album. He released the two singles “Pop” & “Blocs” in June, which makes Made in Paris his first album since Good Movie in 2022.
Much of Made in Paris focuses on themes such as status and women. Keeping up with the name of the project, almost every song title is in French. The album’s opener, “Façade”, starts off with a spoken interlude from Reggae artist Mobile Malachi, Bourne’s uncle who was also featured The Life of Pi’erre 5. “Le Votre” serves as a melodic narrative of Bourne’s dealing with relationships. “JBH” holds the album’s only feature, as Pi’erre Bourne teams up with frequent collaborator Young Nudy, where the two reflect on feelings of facing envy. On the second single, “Pop”, Bourne’s laidback vocals pair with an energetic instrumental to create a unique and atmospheric sound.
Pi’erre Bourne’s dreamy, video game-like production and seamless transitions shine through. Playful accordion riffs on “La Loi, C’est La Loi” and hypnotic drums on “L’Amour” are a striking reminder of what makes him one of the best producers in hip-hop today. Lyrically, like much of his previous work, is represented by minimalist yet sometimes clever wordplay. While the subject matter can be repetitive at times, Made in Paris holds solid in terms sound selection and execution.
